Course Objectives
Upon completion of this qualification, trainees will be equipped to:
- Understand the aging process and its effects on physical and mental health.
- Develop effective communication skills for interacting with the elderly, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Master basic nursing skills, including monitoring vital signs, medication management, and personal care.
- Learn to provide palliative and rehabilitative care to improve the quality of life for geriatric individuals.
- Gain proficiency in fall prevention, mobility assistance, and emergency response.
- Acquire knowledge of nutrition, diet management, and oral hygiene specific to the elderly.
- Understand the legal and ethical responsibilities of a caregiver.

Free Geriatric Care Program
This certified training program is conducted completely free of cost for selected beneficiaries in partnership with National Institute of Social Defence (NISD).
Assessment Eligibility
To be eligible for final examination and certification, trainees must satisfy:
- 1A minimum of 80% attendance in theory and hospital practical sessions.
- 2Successful passing grades on all weekly structured assessments.
- 3Maintain a clean, professional behavior record throughout the session.
